Current approved programs of study under section 310 of the National Law are monitored by the Accreditation Committee, and full accreditation assessments of these programs will be undertaken once the accreditation standards for paramedicine are developed and implemented. The Accreditation Committee anticipates this to be in early-mid 2021.
The Accreditation Committee is not accepting applications for accreditation at this time. Please contact Ahpra’s Program Accreditation Team for further information.
As required by section 45 of the National Law, the Accreditation Committee has published its accreditation process.
The Guidelines for accreditation of education and training programs (the Guidelines) were developed as part of the project to develop accreditation standards for Paramedicine (due to be approved by the Paramedicine Board of Australia, and published, in mid-late 2020), and in conjunction with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice, Chinese Medicine, Medical Radiation Practice and Podiatry Accreditation Committees.
When an education provider is preparing an accreditation application, the Guidelines should be read alongside the accreditation standards for paramedicine (once published), and the professional capabilities for registered paramedics.
