Expression of Interest – Evidence guide for advanced practice paramedic and independent prescribing capabilities

Call for applications: Evidence guide for advanced practice paramedic and independent prescribing capabilities

The Paramedicine Board of Australia (the Board) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from external person(s) or bodies to develop an evidence guide for advanced practice paramedic capabilities.

The Board has approved professional capabilities that describe competent and safe advanced paramedic practice and independent prescribing of scheduled medicines. The capabilities identify the minimum knowledge, skills and professional attributes needed for safe and competent practice at the advanced practice level. The capabilities will be used by educational providers to design and implement a curriculum for programs of study, and will be applied by the Board, as appropriate, to perform its regulatory functions.

Development of an evidence guide for advanced paramedic practice capabilities is now required.

Ahpra works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate more than 960,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

The National Scheme is also committed to providing an environment that embraces and values equity, diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. If you need an adjustment or support during the application process, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.

More information about the role, eligibility requirements and the application process can be found in the EOI information guide.

For enquiries about this opportunity, please contact Caitlyn Mainland via email to [email protected].
